Description: Hi - selling the pictured trade card / ticket. The trade card seen on the front, pictured with "Short Stop", I believe is from 1880 and is rare and collectible on its own. However, this card is enhanced exponentially by its dual use as a ticket for an 1882 baseball game! The game took place at Union Park in Pittsburgh on July 1, 1882, between J.D. Bernd (which appears to be a manufacturing company) and Porter and Donaldson (maybe a steel mill team). Union Park became known as Recreation Park in 1885, and stood until the early 1900s, with a capacity of 2,500. Possible trimming around edges? I've only found one of these trade cards used as a ticket for a game - dated baseball tickets of any sort from the 1880s are super rare. A similar ticket to the same game sold in a 2011 Huggins & Scott auction for $1,175 (before tickets jumped in popularity and price) - their auction archives don't show all of the details on this lot, but see the attached pic for the listing.
