Description: Original 1899 complete 2 volume Victorian true crime set, "Mysteries of Police and Crime: A General Survey of Wrongdoing and its Pursuit." The books are overall in good condition with some signs of wear and age. The covers have some moderate wear. The bindings are good and sound. There is a later name inscription to the front fep of the first volume. The interiors are lightly toned from age with some occasional light foxing and grubbiness. A couple of pages or so have a small marginal tear which does not affect the text. Along with that there may be the very occasional page with some kind of other minor imperfection such as a creased page corner, minor interior crack, minor stain or marking, etc. Generally though, it's a good set. The books measure approximately 9 inches by 5 3/4 inches. Volume 1 is 495 pages and Volume 2 is 483. Please look at all of the photos to further note the condition.
