Description: This is a pair of Bausch & Lomb - US NAVY, BU. SHIPS MARK I MOD.2 NO.81565 binoculars, made in the United States before its entry into World War II in 1941. They are an original and authentic piece of militaria, perfect for collectors of field gear and equipment. The binoculars were designed to provide clear and accurate vision during naval battles, and their history is intertwined with the outcome of World War II. This item is a must-have for any serious collector of original period items. The glass is clear with minimal scratches and the focus is good. There is no strap attached to the binoculars. The case and straps are in good condition for being 83 years old. There's a small missing leather flap that holds the strap against the upper right side of the case, the metal rivets are still attached but the flap is gone. The metal post on the bottom of the case is worn down and so that the strap securing the lid cannot be secured. Considering these binoculars and the case were most likely on a naval ship during wartime for a least 4 years, it's amazing these items are in as good a condition as they are. Please refer to the photos. Thank you for looking and for your consideration.
