Description: For sale is a charming antique teddy bear, believed to date back to the 1950s. While unmarked by the maker, I suspect it was crafted by Steiff based on its design and features. The bear stands approximately 13.5 inches tall from foot to ear and is fully jointed. Its body is made of beige or faded gold mohair with straw stuffing. There’s a squeaker inside its tummy, but it no longer functions. The bear has beautiful glass eyes with brown irises and black pupils. Its nose and mouth are hand-stitched with brown thread, though much of the nose stitching is missing. The paw pads, made of tan or beige felt, show signs of wear, including some small holes, and the four claws on each paw are partially worn away. There are also areas of thinning in the mohair, all consistent with its age and history. While the bear lacks any Steiff buttons or tags, its quality and craftsmanship speak to its vintage charm.
