The floating bridge across Lake Washington, a fresh water lake east of Seattle, Wash., which was opened to traffic 13 years ago to permit the city to expand to the East. Now, in the planning is another floating bridge, the world's largest, to run 11,666 feet across salt water from Seattle to Vashon Island. It will be part of a 100 Million Dollar network of toll roads and bridges planned by the State of Washington to connect Seattle with the Olympic Peninsula on the West. The Lacey V. Murrow Memorial Bridge is in the northwest United States, one of the Interstate 90 floating bridges that carries the eastbound lanes of Interstate 90 across Lake Washington from Seattle to Mercer Island, Washington.
