The result isexciting performance along with theenjoyment made possible byreasonable weight, carried low enoughthat the machine feels nimble and easyto handle, like a smaller motorcycleThe KZ750 LTD weighs 486 poundswith its rather small 3.3-gallon tankfilled. It has a 57.3-inch wheelbase,which is 1.4 inches longer than that ofthe E (non-LTD) model. Most of thedifference is accounted for by theleading-axle front fork, found only on theLTD model, which changes thefront-end geometry slightly, offering,6-inch more trail and resulting in aslight slowing of the steering. It is stillvery quick and easy handling undermost conditions, especially aroundtown.The seating position tends to inhibitreally spirited mountain road rides, asdoes the softer cruiser suspension. Infact, seating position is the only blackmark against the test bike, but it s aserious one. The position is terrible. It'san exaggeration of the chopper orcruiser style and I felt like the circusbear sitting up to beg just before rollingover backwards. I have never had asmuch trouble trying to find a reasonablycomfortable position on a bike, all to noavail. A duffel bag used as a backrestacross the passenger portion helped,while the neat little Cruiser Bubblewindscreen aided'appreciably by takingwind pressure off the chest and upperbody. But even with this help it was stillnot comfortable.The big step in the seat puts the butttoo far forward, and the bars put'thehands and arms too far back. Thefootpeg position is acceptable, but thecombination of bars and seat step isimpossible. Maybe it would be OK forsomeone under five feet tall. The seat isso low, at about 30 inches, that a reallyshort person probably could enjoy thisbike.Like the E model, this bike offers theadjustable-damping rear shocks, withthe improved adjustment collar at the...
