The Engine Control Module (Siemens MSV70) being sold is updated to the latest Binary firmware version provided by BMW. EWS Immobilizer is then coded off to allow it to work without EWS verification. Therefore, it is a standalone plug and play stock DME. If your car has a CAS Immobilizer system, you would need the original keys to be in a working condition in addition to this DME. Just remove the DME and read if it says MSV70, then it is compatible. Important Notes (Please Read): 1. Cars with a manual transmission: You may get a (Service Engine Light Error) saying that “Error Communicating with EGS”. Do not panic! To get rid of this error code, you just need to clear the “Variant Adaptations” on the DME so the DME can recognize your transmission type and get rid of that code. This can be done with a mid-level scan tool that has that function. 2. In some cases, the very first time you start the car with the new DME, the “EML” bulb on the dash will be lit-up and idle will not be smooth. If you read the codes, there will be a “Throttle Adaptations Error”. Do not panic! The DME throttle adaptations need to be cleared so the engine idles smoothly and gets rid of the EML light. I already clear the adaptations before shipping the DME, however in some cases they need to be cleared once on the car. It takes only one minute to clear the adaptations with a decent scan tool. So overall the only two things that you may need to worry about can be solved with clearing the adaptions on the DME so it can learn your car. 3. (Before placing an order) If your car currently does not crank or turn-over at all, simply only swapping the DME will not get it to crank or turn-over. You need to bridge the EWS Module wires together in addition to this DME. Please contact me with the issues you are having and I will assist you. Please do your research and be open to troubleshooting, reading the DME errors, and clearing the adaptations. Remember, you are changing the most complex computer in your car and it is not always a simple plug and play. That’s one reason the dealer or a shop will charger you over $1600 for it. 4. You are buying a DME, not a troubleshooting service. If you are not interested in troubleshooting a car, please take it to a competent BMW shop. I will try to help you within reason but I do not have physical access to your car to see what other issues you are having. But I can guarantee you that the DME I sold you is 100% working and error free. 5. You will get a dummy EWS error code when scanning the car. It won’t trigger a Service Engine Light or CEL or cause any problems. Just ignore it.
