Description: A monster fully inflated Placenticeras Ammolite Ammonite of the Cretaceous Bearpaw formation from Alberta Canada. This is a fantastic specimen but hard to capture all the wonderful gem quality red iridescence due to chromatic shift and the fact that at the most advantageous angles and lighting, though the human eye can see dramatic color, the camera manages to get glare. I've tried to capture some of the vivid, brilliant red this piece exhibits under various forms of light including natural sunlight, LED and halogen. It's unfortunate that none of the angles can show the vividness of the entire specimen but I think I managed to capture much of it with multiple angles of various parts. It is a huge piece weighing over 35 pounds and measuring 18 inches at its widest. it will come with a wood stand for display.
