Description: Flyer for Jere Beasley, 1978 Candidate for Governer of Alabama, inviting everyone to a fish fry in Crestwood Shopping Center, Hartselle, Alabama on Saturday, August 26, 1978. It was an outdoor event, with free fish and all the trimmings to eat, plus entertainment by Ava Barber, Ron Taylor and the Country Band, and Bobby G. Rice. These were special events for people to come out and meet the candidate, listen to speeches, and have food and entertainment, all in one evening. This flyer is on an 8-1/2 x 11 paper that was printed to leave at as many businesses in North Alabama as possible. This is also a rare item, since I have seen only one other in the past 45 years!!!
