Antique 17" Early HANDWERCK HALBIG Comp & Bisque DOLL Open Mouth Sleep Eyes

Description: Title: Antique Doll Description: Presented for your consideration is this nice antique doll. The doll has a bisque shoulder head with a composition body. The body is jointed at the legs, arms, elbows, wrists, and knees. The head has very detailed facial features which include blue sleep eyes (that easily open and close) and parted lips that show 4 teeth. The ears are pierced. The head is finished with a dark blond wig. Wig is tightly secured to the head. The back of the head is marked with "H" with a 1 or I underneath. This is most likely an early Handwerck hallmark. The doll is believed to have been made by Simon & Halbig for Heinrich Handwerck. The doll is dressed in an undershirt, lace socks, bloomers, shoes, slip and a beautiful lace trim dress and matching collar. This great looking doll would make a nice addition to any antique doll collection! Some light spots of discoloration is on the body. Two surface cracks are on one arm and one is on the butt. A small blemish is on one thigh. Light staining is on the slip. Typical wear from age and play. Overall in VERY GOOD-EXCELLENT condition for its age.
