Description: Antique unmarked English majolica plate, certainly made by one of the big manufacturers of the time, circa 1870-80. The iconic design is an open lily pad with veined bright green leaves and a white flower in the center. It measures 9 1/2" in diameter and is in outstanding condition with no chips or cracks....has light crazing throughout, and a brown raised splotch on the back which is some sort of manufacturing defect. It still has the sticker of the antique dealer from whom the owner purchased it on the base. This is part of a lovely collection of antique majolica (mostly English) that I recently acquired from a Long Island estate and will be listing over the next week.
