Description: From a Tucson, Arizona collector's estate. Antique Isleta Pueblo pottery bowl with twisted handles. Made circa 1910. Measures 4¾ inches in height. Good condition, commensurate with age. There is wear and scuffing along the bowl's rim. Please examine all the photos and ask any questions before bidding. I like these little Isleta basket bowls because of the story they tell. The railroad first arrived at Isleta in 1880. Isleta women very quickly began to go to the depot to sell pottery as well as food items. Responding to customer demand, they began to make small inexpensive souvenir bowls such as this one. This style was made from approx. 1895-1920. I have one in my collection that is dated 1910 right on the pot. I'm showing an early post card that shows a young Isleta woman with a similar bowl in her basket of goodies. Post card NOT INCLUDED. Please examine all the photos and ask any questions before bidding. Economy shipping is $13.95 to U.S addresses. Click here to see my other items for sale Click here to read my Feedback.
