Description: CONDITION: Excellent, without defects of any kind. This glass decanter was produced in Austria by Lobmeyr in the 1880s. It has a signature under the handle. The decanter measures 7 7/8 inches tall and is 3 inches at the widest point. The glass is hand blow, has a leaded content so that it rings and is hand cut. It has a lobed, pedestal foot, has an attached handle and matching lid. There are 3 cartouches containing hand enameled scenes of lovers. One couple appears to be dancing and the other couple is having a picnic. The amount of detail in these miniature scenes is remarkable. The painting is clear and colorful. The cartouche on the back has a regal coat of arms in brilliant colors. The remaining surface is covered with intricate gilding accented with raised white enamel beads or jewels. This piece was made to order for nobility in the 19th century. It is so delicate and so exquisite it is hard to believe. #E167 Please do not bid if you do not intend to pay.
