Description: Did you know that the game of golf has been around so long that its origins are a bit unclear?! It is generally agreed, however, that modern golf started in Scotland around the Middle Ages and gained popularity across the UK during the late 1800s. This sterling silver golf hat pin is a perfect example of the Victorian-era obsession with the game. Sleek and simple, some sweet fan once adorned her hat with this fantastic silver club. The pin is quite long and ends with a perfectly rendered little iron, I believe. Stamped Sterling and with what is perhaps an unreadable maker's mark. The perfect gift for your favorite golfer. Circa 1880 Measurements: Entire piece is 7.25", The clubs head is roughly 0.47"/12.1mm by 0.25"/6.4mm, with a depth of 2.4mm. the pin is 1.4mm in diameter. Condition: There is a small hole to one side near the head of the iron. The silver shows some wear and discoloration. Piece needs cleaning. Used/Vintage. Always expect some wear on Vintage and Antique pieces in keeping with their age. We will note any specific damage or wear on each item.
