Description: Antique Tapestry Embroidery Patterned Needlework From Crete This is an absolutely beautiful 24 x 45“ hangable antique tapestry from the island of Crete. The colors are incredibly vibrant and there are no visible signs of fading after all these years. This piece is approximately 130 years old. There is an amazing double bird and floral scene in the middle with a plethora of intricate smaller patterns surrounding it. There are a few figures in there as well. The edges are in perfect antique condition. There are a few signs of wear and damage, please see my pictures for exact details. All of the fibers are still intact so it’s definitely repairable for someone that knows how to do that. The backing fabric is still original. Please let me know if you have any questions.
