Description: Here is a recent estate find. This is a Rare Antique Working 19th Century E.N. WELCH Victorian Walnut Parlor Mantel Shelf Clock with Alarm, made by the E.N. Welch Clock Company Forestville Conn USA. It has a Walnut Wood Case with Ornate Carved Designs, and Reverse Painted Glass Tablet with Victorian Designs. The Dial is a Painted Tin Dial with Roman Numerals and Brass Alarm Center. It has an EN Welch Brass Mechanical 8 Day "Time and Strike" Key Wound Movement with Cathedral Coil Spring Gong Chime, which is Signed "E.N. Welch Mfg. Co. Forestville Conn USA". There are 2 Winding Arbors, and It includes a Winding Key and Ornate Adjustable Victorian Regulator Pendulum. The Clock measures approx. 21 1/2" Tall x 13 1/2" Wide x 4 3/4" Deep. I wound the Clock Up and it Runs, Keeps Time and Strikes Correctly, but Has Not Been Serviced, Sold As Found. The Case Has a Broken Piece of Trim on the Top Left Side, as Pictured, Otherwise Fine.
