Description: Beatles 3rd State Awesome Peeled LA #6 Butcher Cover Please read entire description/auction terms prior to bidding on this item. Thank You If you've been looking for a genuine and authentic 3rd State (peeled) LA #6 Mono Butcher Cover that you will be proud to display but don't want to spend $1400 or more, then this might be for you ! Great holiday gift for that special Beatles Fan. These Los Angeles #6 jackets are known to boast more accurate and vivid colors than their east coast counterparts. Please view the photos and compare with other peels on the web in this price range. While there are a few condition issues (see details below in the condition section) with this jacket, make no mistake about it, the overall quality of the peel is above what you normally see in this price range (see extreme closeup of John Lennon in photos). So, if you aren't super picky about wanting an absolutely 100% perfect jacket, you can pick this up for a price that hopefully won't completely empty your savings account. These correctly peeled #6 jackets are much harder to come by in such displayable condition. Although it is sad each week to see more and more recently poorly peeled covers go up for sale, the good news is that jackets such as this that present well are only increasing in value as more and more get destroyed each week by amateur peel attempts. TheButcherCover, in contrast to these notable amateur efforts, have consistently and correctly peeled hundreds of the most difficult examples from every Capitol manufacturing plant (#2,#3,#5,#6) for over 4 decades. These examples have been exhibited in books, youtube and many other notable outlets for decades.Their jackets are are not produced by a "Johnny Come Lately' with a tea kettle. That amateur steam process may work sometimes, but more often produces warped jackets and sloppy results with obvious paper residue, tears and other issues. It also will not work on the much harder to peel #6 jackets. Many of these folks buy our jackets that were peeled by TheButcherCover and flip them at a higher price. You have a choice, bid wisely and look around before buying. While there is some commonly see condition issues on this jacket (mostly confined to the spine and back of this jacket), this would still look great in a frame. Please read the jacket description below for specific details on condition. Most LA designated 2nd state trunk covers were adhered for Capitol Records by the Modern Album Company during the paste over process with a difficult to remove adhesive. These cannot be "steamed" off. For every nice one that exists, there are probably a thousand bad to mediocre peels. Most of the severely damaged 3rd state covers you see on the internet for sale are improperly peeled LA Jackets. Look around and compare. Perhaps not for the super picky collector that wants a Butcher Cover that appears as if it just popped out of a time capsule and looks like it just came out of the store in 1966, but more for that special someone who wants a rarer and harder to peel LA Butcher Cover that would look sensational in a frame. Please check our positive feedback for customer satisfaction of past sales of genuine Butcher Covers. Also look at realized prices of completed auctions and compare. While the market is currently getting flooded with overhyped/over-graded peels with large obvious large scars/damage/paper residue etc, the good news for buyers is that this is one of the more affordable/obtainable peels out there that still presents nicely that won't make you completely empty your bank account. Due to the difficulty of the peel, these LA Butcher Covers are much harder to come by in displayable condition. This one is better than what is usually seen out there in this price range. But don't just take our word for it, look around and compare what you are buying for what price. Take a close look at the photos and please see below for specific condition description. This item will be safely and securely double boxed and shipped to you via Priority Mail. Please read complete description prior to bidding. Condition: Front of Jacket: Front Peeled Butcher Slick is awesome and presents nicely from a professional peeling process. Beautiful colors and presentation on this one and many feel that the LA Jackets in general have a richer look color wise. Make no mistake about it, these are very hard to peel properly but this example is a very nice peel for this price range. The only minor issues worth mentioning are a few edge abrasions that appear to have been touched up. See close up photo of bottom right corner. These minor issues don't really interfere with the overall sensational presentation of this peel as a whole. Mostly very white borders that were protected for decades by the trunk slick. Top right corner/border bump. Some tape staining and abrasion near the catalog number at the very top right white border. Please see photos to verify the specific conditions described and feel free to contact with questions. The item shown is exact item that you will receive. Seams: Good news is that the Top and Bottom seams are complete and unspilt with just a hint of balding and the very tip of both the top and bottom of the seams (please see photos of top and bottom seams). To protect the integrity what remains of the seams and avoid future damage, a record should never be attempted to be placed into this jacket. Spine: Spine is decent with all spine writing legible. the only issue is a 2 & 3/4" spine split in the very middle of the spine. (See Spine photos). Back Of Jacket: The back of the jacket displays mild to moderate staining and some notable tape stains on the mouth edge and at top and bottom on the left side of the back of the jacket. For some reason, a previous or original owner probably taped the shrink wrap to the inside of the jacket as there are tape stains/remaining tape on the inside of the album jacket. (see photo of back of jacket). Trunk Slick: Pieced together removed partial trunk slick as seen is included. Please see last photo of jacket prior to peeling process. Record: Comes complete with West Coast mono pressing in VG+ condition by conservative Goldmine standards.Has been played on an Audio Technica AT- LP120XBT turntable and plays through nicely without any major issues. Correct West Coast Goldenrod CAPITOL INNER SLEEVE with this record that displays common side and bottom splits of several inches and some common edge wear and tear. Record will come in an archival quality anti static sleeve.Terms Of Auction/Shipping: Due to recent inflation and subsequent increases in actual USPS shipping costs, Buyer pays $39.99 for properly packed double boxed priority shipping with tracking. Shipping of such a high value, large package with significant weigh is costly and labor intensive and will likely be more that what is being charged here. Regardless, the cost to you will be capped at $39.99. Bidders with low feedback or new accounts must contact us prior to bidding on this item. Seller reserves the right to cancel bids at any time. Due to the exceptional cost and labor involved in shipping this item, this is being sold "AS IS" and there are No Returns on this purchase. Please review all photos and descriptions and please contact with questions prior to bidding. This item has been through a laborious process from the 2nd state to what you see here, and as such, the grading is unique on this item. This cannot be graded like a comic book or a baseball card due to the fact that this jacket has twice been altered from its original state, once by the paste over process at the Capitol Factory and likewise by the peeling process. Any minor imperfections are from either process. The photos speak for themselves and we do our best to accurately grade these historic artifacts. Thank You !
