One side features the engagement photo of the royal parents, Charles and Diana, surrounded by the national flowers and cherubs. On the other side is the commemoration: "To Commemorate The Birth of H.R.H Prince William of Wales The First Child Born to Their Royal Highnesses The Prince and Princess of Wales 21 June 1982", surrounded by a gilded scroll design. The body of the loving cup features an elaborate embossed design, with lavish gilding around the upper and lower rims, and on the ornately designed handles. The underside is back-stamped with the Coalport manufacturing information the specification that this loving cup is "Produced in a limited edition of 500". F WALES 21 JUNE 1982".
