Cleaned, seasoned, and ready to cook. Research suggests that these hammered CHF sets were made 1935-1945. Weight is just shy of 6 pounds. Diameter is about 7 inches and the deep fryer is 5 inches deep. Bail handle and fixed 4.5 inch cast iron handle. Hammered surface is beautiful. E. P. Sedgwick (1867-1935) and John Sherwin (1859-1921) organized the Chicago Hardware Foundry Co. in the spring of 1897. In 1969, the company was put under the control of Illinco Corp., a New York holding company, and the diminishing North Chicago plant was shut down and liquidated, with surviving equipment transported up to another foundry in Racine, Wisconsin.
