Description: CRUSHER JOE Ostall Hunter 1/48 Scale Model Kit Nitto Japan - New and Unbuilt in Box A model kit to build an Ostall Hunter from the Japanese animation movie (series?) Crusher Joe. It was manufactured by Nitto and is © Takachiho & A.A.*Nippon Sunrise/Takara. It is kit number ART23007-100. It is 1/48 scale. Can't find a year of manufacture on the box though. "Crusher Joe" was directed by Yoshikazu Yasuhiko, based on the novel by Haruka Takachiho. Crusher Joe and his team of four oddjob mercenaries (and one robot, Dongo) lose their Crusher's license and uncover a conspiracy that could destroy all life in the universe! I hate it when that happens. Crusher Joe was designed by Studio Nue, which became famous in the US for their work on Macross. The Ostall is a fast two legged drone armed with a laser cannon and two missile launchers. If it looks familiar to you, this is because the design was recycled for the first release of Battledroids and then Battletech as the LCT-1V Locust. And you might also remember it (in a somewhat huskier form) in an obscure science fiction flick called Return of the Jedi ... I don't know what the difference between an Ostall and an Ostall Hunter though, sorry. The lid of the box shows the Ostall strutting its stuff. If you're ever attending a robot pirate convention, perch this on your shoulder instead of your foil-wrapped parrot and watch heads turn! Sides show a completed Ostall kit in various poses. Inside the box are the robot kit parts, still sealed on two sprues inside a plastic bag. The instructions are printed on the INSIDE of the lid; included is a color flyer about other toys/kits in the series? Box measures 6 inches by 3.25 inches by 1.25 inches. The box shows moderate handling and storage wear at the corners and edges, and some abrasions to the sides of the lid. BONUS: genuine vintage dust, possibly from outer space!
