Davidson Pearline Richelieu Blue Opalescent Glass Brideshead Basket Vase Stamped

Description: Victorian Davidsons Blue Pearline 'Brideshead' folded glass posy basket. The piece is a clear blue glass at the footed base with delicate translucent-opaque opalescence at the scalloped top and handle. A wonderful Victorian blue glass basket shaped bowl or posy vase with white pearline rim. Made by British company Davidson around 1900, part of their Blue Pearline range, the pattern name is '643 Suite' more commonly known as 'Brideshead' pattern (design registration numbers 130641 to 130643). This piece has the design number 130643 impressed to one side. This registered number dates to 1889. Measures approx 4.25 inches tall by 6.25 inches in diameter at widest point.The basket is in excellent condition with some minor manufacturing flaws that are a testament to its age and do not detract from its loveliness. They came from a local estate sale. In buying vintage, you will find minor scratches, scuffs, different colored, patina or other 'evidence' of the items previous use. Pay attention: I believe this piece to have been made by British company Davidson due to the design, however, please note there is no makers mark or stamp, only design number.
