Description: GIANCARLO IMPIGLIA’S “PIERROT” SERIGRAPH This listing features a joyous limited edition serigraph (also known as a silkscreen) on paper by Italian Modernist, Giancarlo Impiglia (1940-). Research learned that this print image is based on the original oil painting by the same artist titled, “Pulcinella”. The original head faces right and has much more subdued colors than the serigraph. “Pulcinella” was sold for $20,000.00. The overall paper measurement of this color serigraph is 37 inches tall by 26.50 inches wide and is in beautiful condition. The printed image measures 29.80 inches tall by 24.80 inches wide. The artist's signature is lower right, the title “Pierrot” is center, and the limited edition number 142/300 is lower left. All are hand-signed in graphite by the artist. The reverse is clean and stamped John R. Floren 1980, in miniature. Mr. Giancarlo chose a restricted palette of bright white, black, and deep red colors for his prints to contrast the range of blue shades on the background and floor. The floor has a traditional harlequin pattern which is associated with Pierrot’s early costume, then later, theatrical jesters, clowns, and mimes. “Pierrot” will be rolled and shipped in a sturdy tube.
