Description: Domitian ae sestertius, 81-96 A.D., R.I.C. 448, 33.5 mm diameter, 24.3 gm, Lugdunum mint, 82 A.D. The obverse shows the laureate bust of Domitian to the right, with legend showing "IMP. DOMITIAN CAES. DIVI. VESP. F. AVG. P.M. T.R. P.P.P. VIII". The reverse shows Pax standing to the left, holding a branch and a cornucopia. The legend shows "PAX AVGVST S . C.". The surfaces show the toned orichalcum bronze color with some scattered brown/brownish red toning. The reverse at the 3:00 o'clock position shows a mark on the rim, a bit darker toning right around it, a couple of specks of hard, green verdigris, not soft.
