All of these Lobster Mushrooms have been collected, dehydrated, and carefully packaged by my small team of Experts - Thoroughly Inspected, and arriving to you in perfect condition - ready for your culinary experiments :) Wild Lobster mushrooms, or Hypomyces Lactifluorum, are a culinary experience every one should experience. It's flavor and texture are unique to any other mushroom! Contrary to its common name, it is not a mushroom, but rather a parasitic fungus that grows on certain species of mushrooms, turning them a reddish orange color that resembles the outer shell of a cooked lobster Lobster mushrooms get their name from both their flavor and appearance. Its appearance is that of cooked lobster or crab meat, bright red on the outside and creamy white on the inside. With a mild seafood flavor the texture is slightly firmer than most mushrooms. To Use: Bring water to boil place mushrooms in water, turn off heat. Let sit for approximately twenty minutes. Use the reserved water for gravies or to add flavor to your sauce! Once reconstituted, use it in place of nearly any mushroom. The smell and flavor of this mushroom is somewhat reminiscent of shellfish. Enjoy lobster mushrooms in your favorite mushroom dishes, soups, pasta, casseroles, mac&cheese, rice, eggs, meats, — wherever mushrooms are generally used. Try it in stir-fry or as a seafood-free Lobster Bisque!
