Our one piece guide rod is the perfect replacement for the stock guide rod. Our Colt Defender guide rod is a one piece design and is fully machined in the USA! This kit reduces recoil and increases longevity of the spring system in blued 9mm, .38, & .40 Colt Defenders and other similarly sized guns. This kit fits: Colt New Agent Colt Defender Kimber CDP Kimber Ultra Carry Magnum Research MR1911 3" Para LDA Carry Para Warthog Springfield Micro Compact 9/38/.40 3" STI Elektra This guide rod kit is for 3" 1911s chambered in 9mm, .38, and 40 s&w. All systems use a 1/4" guide rod made from solid barstock with a take down hole. This kit includes a guide rod, reverse plug, and ISMI flat recoil spring. The reverse plug is blued Carbon Steel. All kits are drop-in. In independent testing, ISMI spring have endured in excess of 100,000 compression cycles. We don't recommend going that long between changes however. With an ISMI spring, practice routine maintenance and change it once a year. Please note not all parts are "drop in". As with all gun parts some installations may require disassembly and reassembly.
