Description: Up for sale are Playboy trading card singles featuring February appearances from 1954-1993. Buy as many as you like. Please Note: The February edition originally released in the U.S. was cursed. Accounts vary, but according to my source, the largest factors included problems with the manufacturing process and a disastrous distribution. On the manufacturing side, Sports Time hadn't perfected the UV protection added to the printing and packs were sealed too early, so the cards were already going to have trouble being separated. Even more problematic was the fact that they grossly over-estimated the demand for the cards. There was so much inventory that warehouses stacked the cases well beyond what the manufacturer specified. To make matters even worse, several years later Sports Time unloaded a large number of cases by sending them to Australia. They sent many times the number of cases that could be absorbed into that market. As a result, the unwanted boxes sat in stiflingly hot warehouses for years. Eventually, these boxes were returned to the U.S., but by that time the cards had literally been fused together. I recount this sad tale for two reasons: First, just about any February cards you find will have slight surface damage, usually in the form of small white flecks or what appears to be "scuff" marks along the edges. This is normal, and as such, it is not grounds for a return. I removed the cards from this set that have excessive damage, and am not listing them. Second, never buy unopened February boxes or individual packs. Odds are, you're buying hockey pucks. There are exceptions, e.g., packs from the later re-issue of the set for the Japanese market. The Japanese cards are identifiable by the red font on the card backs. Of course, one can't see the font until the packs are opened, so take this for what it's worth. For trading cards, the first card costs $2.59 to ship via Ebay Standard Envelope. Each additional card costs 15¢. I no longer refund shipping overpayments for buyers who choose to pay for each card individually using Buy It Now.
