Four mint Tibet postcards picturing mother and girl, monks, radung horn, etc.

Description: Here we have an attractive and unusual group of four fine mint modern Tibetan postcards. They picture a nomadic woman and daughter, a monk playing the typical Tibetan radung horn instrument and a scene in the Yerpa Valley with the mantra of Om Mari Padme Hum embossed in stones embossed across its slopes, and monks and local people in the ruins of the Ganden Monastery, which was destroyed in the 1960s. The cards are fine mint with just a hint of wear.The photos on the cards were taken by Catriona Bass and were featured in a 1990 exhibition, "Inside the Treasure House, A Time in Tibet," at the Museum of Modern Art, Oxford, England. They were printed by the Alden Press.Fine and well-done traditional views from a much changed part of the world. This group has been expanded.The postage costs on this item are higher than I would like and I have raised them slightly in line with the 2024 postage rates.
