Signed: "GBS" Condition: fine ** Viereck (1884-1962) was a nationally known poet, journalist and novelist - and the leading pro-German propagandist in America from before WWI to WWII.Viereck, who assumed the role of "interpreter of Germany to America", was arrestedin October 1941 on a charge of violating the Foreign Agents Registration Act, and was finally sentenced to one to five years in prison (July 31, 1943). George Bernard Shaw was an Irish-born dramatist, essayist, critic andsocial reform advocate. He wrote more than sixty plays including Caesar and Cleopatra (1898),Man and Superman (1902), Pygmalion (1913), Saint Joan (1923). Awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature (1925). He has 254 film and television credits. Received the Academy Award for Best Screenplay for Pygmalion (1938). Wrote the screenplay for My Fair Lady (1964), directed by George Cukor.
