Description: Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE Green milkweed’s flowers, along with those of antelopehorn milkweed (Asclepias asperula), are one of the most architectural in the milkweed genus (Asclepias). The flower’s corollas do not reflex backwards as do most other species in the milkweed genus but instead surround and extend beyond the hoods, making the flowerheads much bigger and showier. In fact, the flowers heads are large—3-4 inches across. The flower is also tinged with maroon coloring on the hoods. The flowerheads of green milkweed are very similar to antelopehorn milkweed but does differ in having broad leaves, larger corollas, and being much hardier than antelopehorn milkweed. Both milkweeds are an important plant for monarch butterflies and nectar source for other insects. Both are particularly attractive milkweeds in a garden setting. This species is sometimes called green antelopehorn milkweed because of its close resemblance to antelope horn milkweed, particularly its upright pods and similar flowers. We also offer another milkweed species Asclepias asperula (www.ebay.com/itm/144541873462). Note: If you order more than one lot of one species of seeds, for example, you place two orders of 100 seeds we assume you want 200 seeds and your order will be sent in one seed packet.
