Description: Byron H Gurnsey (1833-1880) Gurnsey operated a photography studio in Colorado Springs, Colorado from 1872 until his death in 1880. He originally operated a studio in Sioux City Iowa and is known for his images of Native American Plains Indians. After moving to Pueblo Colorado and then Colorado Springs, he photographed the Pikes Peak area. After his death, his wife sold his negatives to the Kilburn Brothers.
