Hand Painted Rossetti Red/Gold Tea Cup and Saucer

Description: Hand Painted Rossetti Red/Gold Tea Cup and Saucer. Graceful, classic collectible teacup and saucer in a striking dark brick red with a central rose floral design. The gilding work in both the cup and saucer is a highly detailed neoclassical filigree pattern with a central bouquet of roses. The backstamp, "Rossetti, Chicago, Handpainted Japan" probably indicates this cup dates from the post-occupation period. I estimate the set to be between 60-70 years old. They are in very good condition for the age, with no chips or cracks; normal shelf wear on the bases. There is some wear commensurate with age; a few dots of gold are worn on the pattern though it is difficult to see. There is also some areas of dark shading on one side of the outside of the cup. I have hand washed them but they are still there. Please enlarge and look closely at the photos to be sure these are acceptable to you. (Some wear is expected as the character of vintage items.) Sizes: Teacup: 2 1/4 high, 4 1/8 wide, 5 1/4 rim to handle. Saucer 5 3/4 wide. Shipped quickly and packed with care.
