Description: This is a lovely antique pouring dish with a spout and handle in the shape of a leaf with leafy scalloped edges trimmed in gold made by Haviland of Limoges France. I have seen it called a mayonnaise dish, but that is not really pourable so maybe this was to hold some kind of sauce or dressing. Anyway, this one is lovely, decorated with pink roses and leaves scattered artistically on the inside and outside of the dish. Impressed into the porcelain on the handle end, are veins that enhance the leaf design! The green backstamp under the glaze, with Haviland France, was used between 1894 and 1931. The red decorator mark was used from 1889-1931, so this is between 92 and 130 years old. It is in excellent condition, with no chips, cracks or crazing. The dish is about 2 inches tall, 6 inches from spout to handle, 4 & 1/2 inches wide, and holds 1/2 cup easily. The porcelain is so fine it only weighs 4 ounces!
