Description: Hard to Find Antique Homer Laughlin Medium 6" Cable Line WHITE Ironstone Creamer / Milk Pitcher / Mouth Ewer circa early 1900s with Light Gold Banding Hard to find Early 1900s Antique Homer Laughlin Cable Line White Ironstone Creamer / Milk Pitcher with light gold banding. Could also be used as a great Farmhouse Planter or Decor - beautiful antique piece! Love the white and gold antique cottage / or farm house look! Cable was made by Homer Laughlin from their earliest days in the 1870s until 1946. The line was named after the transatlantic telegraph cable. Many potteries in the United States and England had their own lines of Cable. There are subtle differences between the different maker's versions, but one constant is the use of cable embossing on handles, finials, and some trim. Anything with a handle (sugar, sauceboat, jugs, teapot, etc) was given rather ornate cable embossing that was simplified over time. Since Cable was made for almost seventy-five years, it can be found with several different backstamps. Anything with a "Laughlin Brothers" mark comes from the 1870s. "Premium Stone China" marks are from the 1880s. The eagle over lion with Laughlin written out in cursive dates from the 1890s to circa 1905. Many of the pieces that were made after 1911 have a date code. This piece is between 1905 and 1910 as it does not have a date code. Approximately 5-1/2" tall and 5" wide at widest point with handle but is considered the 6" size creamer / milk pitcher. Condition: Very good antique condition. No chips or cracks or crazing. Has a very small factory mold flaw on the lip of the rim on the outside of the piece - common with factory production. Displays excellently. Other small factory imperfections possible on this piece from factory production such as sand bumps, glaze pops, glaze misses, etc. Little issues on this piece, beautiful condition overall.
