The system of paying workers in Scrip is long gone but the tokens remain behind. It has become a fascinating collector's hobby. Donald Edkins spent his lifetime cataloging coal scrip. He created a road map for the collection of Coal Scrip. It is known as the EDKINS CATALOUGE OF U.S. COAL COMPANY SCRIP consisting of two volumes and now in its Fourth edition.
