Book is a Western commentary on life in Japan and culture at the turn of the century. 377 and 374 pages Books - Very good - very slight wear on top and bottom of spines and a small rub mark on the cover of Vol 1 - inside flyleaf of each volume a former owner has made notes in pencil about the illustrations - see photos - but otherwise the books are lovely, and the protective canvas covers are intact - have some spots and wear. The slipcover has wear and staining on the back - see photos. The interiors of both books are tight and bright.
