Description: This is one of 4 fantastic round ceramic tea tiles I am offering by lamosa ladrillera. This one is depicting a matador or bullfighter in action with dust kicking up behind the bowl. It is vibrant in at least nine color glasses. The tile measures 8 1/4” in diameter and is 1/2” thick. There is a small 1/4” colored chip on front edge as pictured. Please ask questions. Buyer will include $12 priority box shipping. Thanks for looking. The tea tile is glazed in thirteen vibrant colors and edged in black which is typical of the tea tiles made in the 1930s by Lamosa in Ladrillera Monterrey, S.A., Mexico. Lamosa is an acronym for Ladrillera Monterrey, S.A. (La mo sa). The tea tile shows similarities to those being crafted in the 1930-40s by Harding Black, Catalina Potteries and San Jose Mission Pottery. Several artists worked for both Lamosa and San Jose Mission. The history of Grupo Lamosa began as brick makers in 1890 when Compañía Manufacturera de Ladrillos de Monterrey was founded. That same year, the company was bought by engineers Bernardo Elosúa and Viviano Valdés, becoming Ladrillera Monterrey, S.A. The tea tile measures 8 1/2” in diameter and 1/2” in thickness.
