Description: This is a unique and interesting piece of American history. The large pre-Civil/Civil War era domed wide horse bridle rosettes are a rare find for collectors. The lead-backed bridle rosette is heavy, the pair weighing about 5 ounces They are as found, I have not cleaned or polished them...but for a war item in excess of 150 years of age, they are very good. The brackets on the back that the leather of the bridle passes through still appear strong, whereas they are mostly found bent, broken, or with extensive rust.
