CONDITION: McKee made this lovely square four piece shaker set. The set includes salt, pepper, sugar, and flour shakers. The Seville Yellow color is desirable among collectors and this lovely set has exceptionally good color. This pretty set has been in a collection for over 40 years and has been well cared for. The glass parts of these shakers are in Undamaged Condition without chips, or cracks. You need to be aware that the top rims of the shakers, where they have been ground, have the usual roughness from grinding that is always present (very minor, as you can see from our photo). This is a result of the way these shakers were produced. There is no roughness or chipping to the shaker bodies. The lettering on all four shakers is fantastic, and complete. Please take a look at all of our photos - they are good). They show you exactly what to expect. The insides of the shakers are nice and clean with no residue. The aluminum lids are original. They have some very minor denting (easy to remove) but I am mentioning here for the sake of accuracy. For those who collect "Uranium Glass" these shakers fluoresce brightly under a black light. This is a great set to add to a Seville Yellow McKee collection, or to a collection of Depression Era shakers. McKee Seville Yellow - (1930s) The McKee Glass Company is one of two companies that had a complete line of yellow milk glass items made specifically for the kitchen area. The McKee line included round canisters with glass lids, canisters with aluminum screw lids and drop lids, measuring cups, reamers, rolling pins, water dispensers, leftover jars, spice shakers, salt and pepper shakers, water bottles, a salt box, mixers and mixing bowls in several different shapes. There was even a punch bowl made in this color. The Hocking Glass Company made a fairly large line of kitchen yellow, but these pieces are not easy to find. The Hocking color was not as vivid and deep as McKee's, but it has steadily gained favor with collectors over the years. McKee's Seville Yellow is still popular with collectors today.
