Description: A fabulous matched set of genuine Mikimoto Akoya Pearl set comprising of a brooch and stud earrings. They are both set in solid fully hallmarked 9ct yellow gold mounts and the earrings have marked 9ct white gold butterfly backs. This is done because white gold stronger than yellow so making them more secure; it is intentional and not a replacement. The design is thick gauge heavy gold vine leaf theme giving the impression of grape vines with the pearls enhancing this effect. Mikimoto was the creator of the cultured pearl and these do bear the brand mark of MP inside a clam shell. This is an earlier mark used before it became M. I have tried my hardest to capture the mark but I really struggled on the brooch. Hopefully you can see enough detail to make it out. In excellent condition. Please note this is a matched set not a matching set. However they are the same theme and go very well together. They do come in an original Mikimoto box. The brooch measures 35mms across and each pearl measures 5mms across. The earrings measure 16mms long at its longest x 10mms at its widest. Each pearl 4mms across.
