Q & A Q: Is it hard to install / is this something I can fit myself? A: Tailgate assistant struts are an easy to fit do it yourself system. There is no drilling or wiring. You will just need some very basic tools. Q: Do I need a single or dual strut system? A: Depends on the model, the facelifted Navara only requires a single strut system as there is already weight reduction torsion spring in the tailgate from factory. Note the older model np300 (2015-2020) will require the twin strut system. Q: Can I fit tailgate struts from / to a different vehicle? A: Please note that tailgate struts are not cross compatible with different vehicle brands.
