(40478) NOTE: The Windsor pattern was one of Reading Hardware's most successful design efforts. They produced this pattern on mortise locks of many different sizes, finishes and model numbers from front door entry locks to passage locks to cabinet latches to rollers for sash windows. Check the size of the lock you need carefully against our measurements.Vintage, Circa 1870, RHC model # 141, with the key, works perfectly, very nice, Reading Hardware Co., 'Windsor' design. The lock is reversible. FACEPLATE: Faceplate is steel and measures 5 5/8" long, 7/8" wide, 3/16" thick. BOX: Box is 3 1/8" deep from the front edge of the brass face plate and it is 3 3/4" top to bottom. SCREWS: Screw holes are on 4 7/8" centers. BACKSET: Backset (the distance from the front edge of the face plate to the center of the knob post hole) is 2 3/8". DROP: Drop (the distance from the center of the knob post hole down to the center of the round portion of closest the key hole) is 2". KNOB POST: The lock requires a standard 5/16" knob post.KEY: The key is included. The lock is fully restored and functions properly. High quality lock. THREE locks available as the auction begins.
