Description: We have for sale, by the yard, natural, heavyweight, un-dyed raw silk. The rolls we are cutting from are dated 1968. It is 45" in width and is sold by the linear yard. It is 'nubby' to the touch with small, little balls and bumps throughout. It is a nice neutral cream or off-white color that is speckled with darker brown pieces which gives it a warm, inviting look. It is very pleasing to the eye. It is somewhat stiff, lays very well and does not wrinkle easily. I have dyed this in the past and it takes dye very well. This material is very versatile in it's uses. It is used for sewing clothing and crafts, for textile artwork, for furniture upholstery, as wall coverings, etc. It is extremely durable. Raw silk of this weight and quality is not available. Research has shown commercially available raw silk to weigh roughly half the weight of this fabric.
