Description: This is an original, Second World War era officer's solid brass belt buckle for the German Hanover State Police and Fire Service. Worn with the service dress, this is a two-piece buckle with a fixed hinge and moving belt ring or loop. I do not see any hallmarks. The only flaw is the ring, which has been bent (see photos). It would take some care, but I am confident this could be restored to its original shape if you have access to a jeweler's vice or any sort of vice with material that will protect the metal from scratches. The buckle face measures 48mm in diameter and is in excellent condition. Really a nice display item.
