Description: This auction is for a large set of Erich Stauffer Figurines “fake Hummels”. It does not have a paper tag for title but this is either called “Sandy Shoes” or “Open Laces” or both. There is no title sticker on these. Bottom of figures say Designed by Erich Stauffer U8248 86/7245 and there is a Japan sticker on the Girl and remains of an Arnart sticker on the boy. I think the paint on these look great. Check photos for condition. I consider these the LARGER size figures even if they are about 6.5 inches tall because they are sitting down and they have the larger faces. Faces measure about 2 inches square. I’d put these with your collection of larger size of figures. I am listing all my Erich Stauffer figurines. Please note some are a larger proportion so I have put a yard stick in with my photos. Go by facial size if you are grouping yours by the proportion. Most of the ones I am listing are the larger ones but I do have a few smaller ones. None of mine have any cracks or chips. Erich Stauffer: These figurines are also called “fake Hummels”. There are different stories regarding Erich Stauffer as some say he worked for Hummel and then started doing them on his own. One online said he only worked on these for Arnart from 1953 but I believe he started before 1953. I started to collect these because my grandma had one that my dad gave her while in Japan during WWII with the coast guard. There are different marks on the bottom so maybe that clarifies it. I guess none of it matters. These are very reasonable priced for the quality and if you like the look why should it matter what the value is.
