Description: HISTORY: There were 92 Locomotives produced in the P5 class for different uses. They were manufactured by PRR, Westinghouse and GE during period of 1931-35. They were originally designed for passenger trains, however due to the success of the GG-1 model in passenger service, the P5 engines were redirected to freight hauling. There is an original survivor of this engine model at the St Louis Nat. Museum of Transportation. This 3rd Rail model engine is in Beautiful Condition: I purchased it used, but never operated it myself. This p5 is a very detailed brass model with handholds, bells, power lines across roof to the pantographs. There is a speaker up above the motor inside the engine shell I could see, but I don't know what sound effects it can provide on this model, never operated. Screws are in small bag for pantograph connection included with paper instruction sheet. I was not going to unpackage the pantographs but later did so, they are set in place and shown in several pics. I would describe color of the engine as a very dark forest green. Selling a portion of my large collection primarily of streamliners with all manner of diesel and steam engines, & related passenger cars, & boxcars (streamliner advertising) I only operated 2-3 of the engines, mostly displayed or stored.
