FLUKE purchased POMONA in 1998.Purpose: Using one of Dual Plugs in this Listing, when plugged into the Volt and COM Jacks as shown on the FLUKE 87V (NOT INCLUDED) when Temperature is selected, will cause the Meter to display the internal Temperature. This is important if You are going to use a thermocouple to make a measurement of anything, such as A/C duct temperature as an example. If Your meter was left in Your vehicle over night, as an example, and You want to measure a temperature inside a building, it will display the wrong temperature from Your thermocouple!All FLUKE multimeters that can read Temperature using a K-type thermocouple will have a icon of a thermometer bulb on the selector facia as shown in the above photo(s).How to Use: Select Temp, Note it will display OPEN. Plug in shorting bar, and it will display the internal Meter temp: see 68.7 F. photo. Next, press the REL keypad (Relative), which will store the internal temp. now. Remove the shorting bar by pulling straight out....Do Not wiggle back an forth. Next plug in your thermocouple. (see 72.3F photo).
