Description: This is a very nice looking, high end custom finished Ralph Lauren Polo Blue Label mens suit in a size 42R. This is the classic, vintage Ralph Lauren when they were made in the United States of imported fabric and featured the higher end retailing, also called the “Blue Label” line. This suit is a custom finished item......so the measurements should be verified before bidding. Please verify below.....thank you. This suit is made of a nice 100% wool in brown, ivory, and periwinkle blue Prince of Wales plaid pattern. This is a wonderful looking material that makes this a great suit......so please see the up close pictures for the best example of this special material and color. It is a 2 button single breasted coat with 4 cuff buttons on the sleeves. All of the buttons are shown tailored in the high stem size allowing the button to sit off of the material for a very custom look. It has a single vented rear, flap waistline hacking pockets, and it is fully lined with 3 interior pockets. The coat has hand picked stitching along the exterior edges. The pants have a pleated front, a hook and bar with a inside button front closure, they are lined to the knee front on the interior, the hidden key pocket along the waistline, and have a buttoned rear pocket and a button with a loop rear pocket . They have side seam pockets. The pants are finished with a 1 3/8 inch cuffed hem with the material folded inside allowing one to professionally lengthen if needed up to about 3 extra inches. The interior also features braces buttons (Ralph Lauren logo buttons) for optional suspenders if desired. These pants have a black interior lining and is very clean without any major stains or discoloration‘s whatsoever. They are originally labeled a size 36 at the waist, and have been modified so please see the measurements below. The measurements for the jacket are as follows: CHEST = 45 1/2 inches around the chest measured under the armpit area around the outside of the coat. We take measurements around the outside circumference of the jacket as if it was being worn by a person. We do not take measurements laying flat. SLEEVES = 35 inches from the center of the back neckline to the end of the cuffs, 24 1/2 inches from the shoulder seam to the end of the cuffs. TAIL = 30 1/2 inches from the top of the collar to the end of the tail hem in back SHOULDERS = 20 inches across the shoulder from seam to seam WAISTLINE = 43 1/2 inches around the midsection of the outside of the jacket at the bottom button which is about 9 inches up from bottom of the hemline. We take measurements around the outside circumference of the jacket as if it was being worn by a person. We do not measure laying flat. The pant measurements are: WAIST = 35 inches around the inside of the waistband. Laying flat they are about 17 1/2 inches across the waistband. There is about 2 extra inch of material to expand if needed. They were originally a size 36 based on the label. LENGTH INSEAM = 28 inch inseam measured to the end of the hem with about 2 1/2 inches of extra material to lengthen as needed. OVERALL LENGTH = 39 inches long from the waistline to the end of hem RISE = 11 inches. LEG OPENING = 9 1/2 inches wide This classic Ralph Lauren men’s suit is pure quality and knowing it is custom finished using high end elegant wool material, you know this is a great suit to own proudly for many years. Being made the quality seen in the vintage Blue Label Polo by Lauren in the US, shows these are desirable for decades. Overall the exterior of the suit looks very good but it is not perfect. During inspection we noticed two very small flaws, but do blending well with the material pattern so they are not very significant of an issue. One is on the right cuff above the buttons I circled in red in one of the photos as you can see, because of where it is on the pattern it is not exaggerating of a problem. The next one was on the rear right side pant by the rear pocket. This is not really seen especially when wearing the coat. Other than this, the suit seems to be in wonderful condition overall. The interior of the pants is done in black and has only minor signs of wear and is in great condition. There’s plenty of life left in this great vintage and well-made Ralph Lauren suit. This Ralph Lauren Polo Blue Label classic suit will be a great addition to any mans wardrobe for many years to come.
