Description: RARE- Emeralite Reverse Painted Acid Etched BELLOVA Shade, 8734 Desk Lamp Emeralite Reverse Painted Acid Etched Shade, Desk Lamp. This beautiful lamp features a BELLOVA etched and shade with a HAND PAINTED decorated border . Short history on BELLOVA - They were produced in Czechoslovakia starting in about 1923 and were produced for the HG McFaddin Co., also the manufacturer of Emeralite lamps. They produced many different shades of glass shades in many different colors. One of the most readily identifiable features is the lace pattern painted on the tops and bottoms separated by a band of flowers, along with a unique bottom finial made of glass. Condition- Very well preserved for 120 year old lamp! Imperfections- One small dent on the bass and a small chip on the inner lip of the shade. Most of these lamps have all sorts of imperfections caused my time and age. Condition wise - one of the best I have ever seen . It looks brand new . Please look at all the photos. Lamp has been rewired with vintage style cord for authenticity. Original chain switch works perfectly. This is a wonderful Emeralite with BELLOVA Cased Glass Desk Lamp, #8734 and so marked on the lamp. The lamp stands about 8 to 12 inches tall depending on where you adjust the adjustable arm of the Etched Cased Glass shade. The base is a weighty 7 inches square. The base retains most of its original felt. The part supporting the shade is marked on the plate "Patented Aug 16, 1916, Emeralite Desk Lamp, #8734, H.G. McFaddin Co, USA" and retains the diffuser glass support arms. Last, but not least, the decal on the near perfect Etched BELLOVA Cased Glass shade is also mostly complete. See the photographs. The Brass has a real nice smooth patinated finish to it. The lamp has been correctly rewired and works perfectly. All in all, just a great looking Emeralite Desk lamp for your home or office desk.
