Description: This wonderful ancient appearing yellow hand blown glass amphora/vase by artist Archimede Seguso in Murano, Venice, Italy in the 1960's measures 13 1/2" tall, 4 1/2" in diameter at the rim, 3 1/2" in diameter at the base and weighs 4 pounds, 9 ounces. It is in fine condition with some wear (see photos). 6902Archimede Seguso was one of the greatest Italian glass makers in the 20th century. He was born in Murano, Venice, Italy in 1909 and died in 1999 after an incredible artistic career in glass making. His glass pieces are sought after by collectors around the world. One of his specialities was to create glass items that appeared to have been excavated after being buried for 2,000 years from Roman times. That technique is called "scavo" or "excavated" in Italian. This amphora style vase was created by using the scavo technique and can grace your home or office!
