Description: This listing is for the exact items pictured. This listing is for a case kit for building an SKX007 style watch with a high-beat (4 Hz, 28,800 beats per hour) movement. Many of the included components in the kit have been carefully customized to achieve cross-compatibility between ETA 2824-2 movement specifications and NH35 dial specifications, as well as for use with the custom movement holder included. You will not find these components off-the-shelf with the specifications to achieve what this kit achieves. The stem has even been pre-sized and assembled in the included screw-down crown with Loctite Blue. All you need to do is assemble with your own strap and a NH35 dial (with one small, easy mod), and you will have a rare SKX007-style watch with the smooth seconds hand sweep that you will find in luxury Swiss watches. ITEMS INCLUDED IN KIT 1. SKX007-style case42mm diameter stainless steel caseSapphire crystal3.8H crown positionBrushed top and polished side lugsTight-turning 90-click bezelSilver bezel insert (install yourself and/or swap with your own)Supports 28.5mm dials.NOTE: This case will not work with dials wider than 28.5mm. Check the exact specs of the dial you want to use. Some dials advertised as 28.5mm diameter are actually 29.0mm. Such dials will not fit into this case unless you file/sand down the perimeter of the dial to fit. 2. HK Precision Technology PT5000 movementHigh-quality ETA 2824-2 clone movementHigh-beat 28,800 bph (beats per hour) or 4 HzModified date wheel for compatibility with the date window position of NH35 dialsModified tall hand stack necessary for use with the included custom movement holderRegulated as indicated in the timegrapher screenshot (dial up). This performance is not guaranteed, as conditions may change during shipping.NOTE: The hour wheel will come loose in a plastic bag. DO NOT lose or misplace this. It is a tall hand stack hour wheel that cannot be replaced with a stock hour wheel for the 2824-2. 3. Custom movement holderServes as dial spacerNotches for dial feet positioned for 3.8H crownCutouts for case clampsNOTES:The movement comes preinstalled in the movement holder with short case clamps to hold the movement firmly in holder. The case clamps are not used to clamp the movement into the case, as they are not long enough to extend past the perimeter of the movement holder. The movement holder will friction fit into the case, and it is of the proper height to be held down by the case back. If you plan to use the movement and holder in a different case with a different depth that requires case clamps to keep the dial pressed down, it is advised that you keep the existing case clamps in place until the movement is in the case. Then you can swap out each of the shorter case clamps, one-by-one, with longer case clamps. When de-casing the movement, you should reverse the process by swapping out the long case clamps for the short ones. The notches in the movement holder are to assist with dial alignment and prevent rotational movement. They are not intended to hold the dial in place. You will need to use the included "dial dots" to firmly hold the dial in place. See instructions below for more details. 4. SKX-style handsModified for compatibility with ETA seconds post (.25mm diameter)C3 green lume5. "Dial dots"Double sided adhesiveUsed for affixing the dial to the movement holder.Extras included in case of errors or swapping dialsNOTE: Once you place the dial into place, you may have the need to remove the dial again for repositioning or swapping out the dial. The dial dots will typically stay adhered to the dial rather than staying on the movement holder. 6. Dial spacerStock dial spacer commonly included with all ETA 2824-2 movementsNot required if using the included custom movement holderNOTE: This dial spacer is included in the event that you later decide to use the movement in a traditional ETA build with a stock, unmodified date wheel. The dial spacer will not work with the modified date wheel, as it is too wide for the dial spacer. 7. Temporary dial (NOT PICTURED)Serves as a guide for how the dial should be mounted in the movement holderServes as guide for which set of dial feet to keep for a 3.8H case and which set of dial feet to break off on the new dial WARNING:If you've never worked with an ETA 2824-2 movement (or clone) before, it is strongly advised that you refer to tutorials on removing the crown stem. Not doing this properly will cause the keyless works to get jammed. If this happens, you will need to disassemble the movement to reset it. If you are not prepared to disassemble and reassemble a movement, then do not purchase this kit. If you are willing to take the risk, then at least take the following precautions: 1. Always pull the crown out to the 3rd (hacking/time-setting position) first.2. Use a 1.2mm flat head screwdriver for pressing the stem release. DO NOT use anything round, or you will risk depressing the release too far. Press as straight down as possible (i.e. not at an angle).3. Pull the crown as you depress the stem release, and immediately stop pressing the instant you feel the stem is freed. INSTRUCTIONS FOR ASSEMBLY1. Remove the movement from the case.2. Remove the temporary dial by prying it up with a small screwdriver or tweezers. The temporary dial will have dial dots affixed to the underside.3. Take the dial for your build ("build dial"), and remove any extra sets of dial feet. You can use the temporary dial as a guide for which dial feet to remove and which to keep for a 3.8H crown.4. Prepare the build dial as usual. (e.g. sanding/filling down any dial feet nubs, etc.)5. Shorten the dial feet of the build dial by trimming off 1 to 2mm from the dial feet using end snips, again using the temporary dial as a guide for how much to trim off. You will need to do this step as typical dial feet are too long for the dial to be seated against the movement when using the included custom movement holder.6. Affix, at minimum, two "dial dots" onto the movement holder, as indicated in the last image of this listing. You can place additional dial dots as needed. Be sure to peel off the yellow protector with a tweezer once the dial dots are in place.7. Seat the hour wheel over the cannon pinion. Do not forget this step or you will need to later remove the dial once you discover that the hour hand has no post to set the hand.8. Seat the dial onto the movement holder with the dial feet positioned in the notches indicated in the last image image of this listing. If the dial does not sit flush against the movement holder, you did not trim enough off the dial feet. If your build dial has no dial feet, you will need to manually position the dial using the date window as a guide.9. From here on, assemble the watch as you would any other watch.
